North London cleaning work explained

Am I eligible to apply?

You must be 18 or over and entitled to do self-employed work in the UK. British and Irish citizens can apply, as can people with immigration permission that allows self-employment. All cleaning work through Maid2Clean is self-employed and your eligibility is checked before you start.

What regular commitment do clients need?

Let us know which days and hours you can offer. Cleaning visits usually run for 2 to 6 hours, weekly or fortnightly. Choose suitable clients for your local round and commit to the regular times you agree with them. Work is built up over time as clients become available.

Does a Student visa allow this cleaning work?

A Student visa normally prevents self-employment, even if it permits some employed hours. Because cleaning through Maid2Clean is self-employed, your current permission must allow self-employment before you can take on clients. Check the conditions attached to your visa. Read the GOV.UK Student visa guidance.

What physical tasks does the role involve?

A visit involves active household work such as standing, bending, mopping and vacuuming. You need to carry out the agreed cleaning safely for visits of at least 2 hours. Speak with our team about any reasonable adjustments you need for applying or doing the work.

Who provides the cleaning supplies?

You use the materials and equipment provided by each client. Agree the cleaning tasks and discuss particular requirements before you visit.

What happens during the vetting process?

Before work starts, we check your identity, address, eligibility for self-employed work and two references. The final interview is held at your home by a local interviewer who will also explain the role.

When will I find out the cleaner rate?

Ask our team about cleaner rates and suitable work. Pay is discussed with you before you accept a client.

How can I build a local cleaning round?

Start with the North London neighbourhoods you can reach reliably and choose suitable client opportunities as they arise. You can work in different homes, planning travel between visits around the regular times you agree with your clients.
